COMP Cams releases a new Evolution hydraulic roller lifter design for the 7.3 L Ford Godzilla engine. Evolution lifters have proven to be a game-changer for the performance and durability demands of modern engines such as the Godzilla. Evolution lifters utilize COMP’s patented Hydraulic Cartridge Technology (HCT), a revolutionary design that offers the most reliable performance, quieter operation, and longevity of any tappet in the aftermarket. Through years of research, development, and prototyping, engineers developed a combination of a self-contained, rem ovable hydraulic cartridge within a thick-wall tappet body, resulting in reduced oil volume that is less affected by aeriation, thereby delivering the most consistent bleed rates on the market. This precision-controlled bleed-down ensures excellent performance at high RPM. With less oil volume neede d to fill the internal chambers of the cartridge, engine operation is noticeably quieter. Additionally, the hydraulic cartridge is easily serviceable by anyone, eliminating the need to replace the entire lifter assembly should it require servicing.
