TCI Automotive C4 Street Rodder Transmission for Ford 1970-1982 289-351 w/ Large Bellhousing

This TCI Pan-Filled Ford C4 transmission is aimed at customers with stock-to-mildly cammed engines who want excellent street performance and long-term durability. The pan-filled C4 transmission (#511638) is for larger vehicles without space considerations, as it features a larger bellhousing to accommodate the 164-tooth flexplate and a bump-out in the pan for the dipstick.

It comes with rebuilt planetaries with new bushings, thrust washers, and sealing rings, plus extra aftermarket clutches to increase holding capacity. The front pump assembly mating surface is machined flat to prevent pressure loss, while a Valve Body Performance Improvement kit increases line pressure for improved performance, durability, and firmer, more positive shifts. Stock input shafts are replaced with 4340 aftermarket steel shafts for increased strength and durability.

Each Street Rodder transmission undergoes triple testing to verify that internal fluid pressures and shift characteristics match the strict TCI quality control standards. Transmissions and their internal components are inspected, and stock parts are replaced with high-performance TCI-manufactured parts where applicable. Valve bodies are remanufactured and tested 100% prior to installation. Last, each transmission is subjected to both a static hydraulic pressure test during assembly and a final dyno test prior to shipping.
